Open Access Statement and Publisher’s Business Model
The Iraqi Journal of Veterinary Sciences (IJVS) operates under a non-profit, cost-recovery publishing model. The journal is owned and published by the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Mosul (Iraq). The journal is open access, and all published content is freely available online under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0) license.
To cover editorial, peer-review management, production, and online hosting costs, the journal charges an Article Processing Charge (APC) of 150 USD for accepted manuscripts. The journal does not receive financial support from governmental or non-governmental organizations, commercial entities, or advertising. No subscription fees are collected, and all journal operations are supported solely through APC income and institutional operational support (editorial office resources, staff, and infrastructure) provided by the University of Mosul.
The journal maintains strict editorial independence and adheres to high publishing standards, including plagiarism screening (iThenticate), double-blind peer review, and open-access dissemination without paywalls.
