Abstract
The aim of this research was to diagnose toxoplasmosis in women and cats in the cities of Al-Qadisiyah Governorate. Therefore, 91 blood samples were collected from women and six blood samples from stray cats in the streets. Latex agglutination test was used, and the result of 75 cases was positive for the latex agglutination test (82%). ELISA (lgG, LgM) was also performed, and the result of the lgG ELISA test was 60 positive cases out of the total positive cases for the latex test, i.e. (80%). As for the lgM ELISA test, the result was 11 positive cases (1406%) and negative for the two mentioned tests. Immunofluorescent testing for lgG was also performed for twenty cases that were positive for the ELISA test for lgG, and the match was positive in 19 cases (95%). As for the cat samples, which numbered six cases, all of them were positive for both the latex agglutination and ELISA tests for lgG, except for one case that was negative for the latter test.
