Detection of some genetic locations related to ascites in the DNA of broiler chickens using microsatellite marker

AbstractThe objective of this study was to detect the genetic linkage map of ascites disease in broiler using microsatellite markers. Three different random groups were used. Three chromosomal regions distributed on two chromosomes were covered by this study, which were: The first chromosome the region 18.38-21.48 Mega base pair. The first chromosome: The region 127.01 Mbp. The ninth chromosome: The region13.5-15 Mbp. Four primers were designed; (PHS01, PHS02, PHS03, PHS04), for the purpose of detection and analysis microsatellite alleles which occur close to the selected regions. Existence of multiple alleles per locus was detected by genetic analysis, with a significant linkage for many of these alleles to the candidate genes for The Pulmonary Hypertension Syndrome (Ascites); MAPK II, Rho- GTPase, AGTR 1. Therefore , there is possibility of using all the tested markers in the future programs selection associated with Ascites disease in broiler chickens.
